“You
know you really don’t go south for crab cakes, like to New Orleans
or South Carolina. No. You
go east, Yeah. to
St. Michaels Island. Yeah. Off
of Easton. Oxford,
Maryland, Off
of Easton. there is
a great little hotel there. Oh,
really. It’s
the best I ever had. Oh,
really. You
know the name? No,
but it’s a yellow wooden building. Ok,
when you’re in Oxford, Yeah,
the best. go
to that little yellow wood building. Yeah,
the best. And
it’s the best crab cakes. Ever. And
I believe you, I totally believe you.”
Guests
started to arrive at the Robert Morris Inn, explaining they were coming to
get the best crab cakes mentioned by Robert Duvall on the Martha Stewart
Show. This brought back memories for a waitress at the Robert Morris
Inn. Katie remembered serving Robert Duvall crab cakes a couple of
years ago in the Inn’s Colonial Taproom. She says he had the
Inn’s crab cake platter at table 111!
Benjamin
Gibson, who works in the family business, was able to watch a copy of the
Martha Stewart Show on the internet. He emailed Martha Stewart the
following letter, and later learned that Martha Stewart was forwarded the
message.

Dear Martha Stewart & MarthaStewart.com,
I learned that you would
like to know the name of the "Yellow
Hotel" in Oxford, Maryland that has the best crab cakes, according
to Robert Duvall. That building is the Robert Morris Inn ( www.robertmorrisinn.com ) My
Parents Ken and Wendy Gibson are the owners. This is a family
business, so I work at the Robert Morris Inn, also.
I enjoyed watching
the video clip from your May 4 Martha Stewart Show.
Sincerely,
Benjamin Gibson & Family
